The European honey bee is not « one » but about ten subspecies of foragers. Over the millennia, each subspecies has managed to adapt to the climate and the floral varieties present locally and has given rise to multiple geographical ecotypes. But all these irreplaceable pollinators of our ecosystems are now threatened.
In March 2018, POLLINIS, thanks to an initial mobilization, succeeded in getting MEPs to vote on a text inviting Member States and the European Commission to take concrete measures to protect local bees and the conservatories that try to protect them. But since then, no measures have been put in place.
